Our Bathroom Renovation
My husband and I decided our master bathroom needed a makeover. We had closed in our hallway closet a few years ago with the idea that one day, we would use this extra 2 feet of space to enlarge the bathroom, making room for a new walk-in shower, complete with dual shower heads and lots of space. We demoed the bathroom and found we had a broken pipe. So my husband had to completely redo all of the plumbing and replace almost all of the studs in the bathroom. He also replaced all of the electrical in the room and placed three canned lights in the ceiling to give the room a brighter finish. We found our wall tiles on clearance, the color being African Slate and the floor tiles were under priced at $6.82 a case, but were supposed to be $6.82 per tile at 10 tiles per box. We saved over $300 on the floor tiles alone. Our total renovation cost for our new shower was $1900. It was a lot of hard work, but was well worth doing it ourselves.
